Underwater Navigator Diver
When you're underwater, knowing where you are and where you're going comes in handy, especially if you're looking for that beautiful reef that you've heard all about. The PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course will help you become a pro at finding your way underwater.

Dive Description
Navigation Dive 1 Determine the average number of kick cycles and amount of time required to cover approximately 30m/100ft.
Navigate to a predetermined location and return to the starting point using natural navigation and estimated distance measurement.
Demonstrate correct positioning and handling of a compass needed to maintain an accurate heading while swimming underwater.
Navigate to a predetermined location and return to within 6m/20ft of the starting point using a compass and estimated distance measurement.
Swim a square pattern underwater returning to within 8m/25ft of the starting position using a compass.
Counts as an Adventure dive towards Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver
Navigation Dive 2 Demonstrate the correct compass positioning and handling needed to maintain an accurate heading while swimming underwater.
Navigate a predetermined course with more than five(5) compass turns, returning to the starting point within 15m/50ft of the exit.
Fix a specific underwater location to be relocated on a future dive, using two permanent sets of landmarks.
Navigation Dive 3 Demonstrate the correct compass positioning and handling needed to maintain an accurate heading while swimming underwater.
Navigate a compass course under water when new course headings (five or more) are provided on underwater markers.
Draw a map of the underwater area covered by the course conducted during the navigation dive.
